OUR PROGRAMS

3-hour seminar organized by Kim O

“STEPS FOR PERSONAL ADVANCEMENT FOR WOMEN.”

Aim: To train women in the community who feel vulnerable, left behind, and disadvantaged; to learn skills that will allow them to move from a situation where they are merely surviving to actually thriving and advancing in their personal and financial life.

The curriculum for this life-altering seminar will include:

Career counseling and Coaching in Life skills: The participant will be able to assess the areas in their education and current skills that need improvement and polishing. The goal is to improve the income of the participant by OPTIMIZING her current skills and experience so she becomes more attractive to potential employers. The participant will learn how to turn neglected personal skills, existing education, and previous work experience into a money-generating potential in the job-market or even embarking on a self-fulfilling career of entrepreneurship or small business ownership.

Resume Review & Writing: The participant will learn the process and skills of writing an eye-catching resume that allows prospective employers, business partners, and financial sponsors to see the depth of the person’s life and experience.

Interview Preparation: At the end of the course, the participant will be able to present herself for a job interview, business partnership, bank loan or job promotion in a way that her attributes are presented in the best light (personality, dressing, speech and demeanor). The participant will learn to engage the interviewer. The participant will also learn how to follow up the interview with a ‘Thank You’ note.

Working on healthy interpersonal relationships: The participant will learn skills that will enable her to get the best from her relationship, especially those involving adult partners. The participants will learn to recognize warning signs and red flags relating to individuals who may have abusive tendencies or other behaviors that might be harmful. The participant will learn conflict resolution and know when a relationship needs to come to an end.

Credit Counseling: Kim O recognizes that most of the problems that affect the wellbeing of women in our community today, and their families, is their inability to obtain credit, due to poor credit scores. This part of the course will focus on how participants can build credit, pay off loans, and learn the wise and efficient use of credit cards and managing other liabilities.

Business Planning and Development: One of the most satisfying life experiences for a woman in our time is to be a successful entrepreneur and business owner. This part of the curriculum will offer each participant the skills to develop an individual business plan tailored to each person’s skills, attributes and needs. At the end of the course, the participant should be able to:

  • Identify the area of business she wants to pursue

  • Gather resources towards her goal

  • Write a serviceable business plan

  • Plan logistics such as business incorporation, location, rent, loans, etc.

  • Book-keeping, fee payment, and tax accounting

  • Marketing and publicity for the growth of the business

Fashion on a budget: Kim O recognizes the importance of dressing for success and for less. During this course, participants will learn helpful skills for styling themselves on a budget. This course will bring the fun back into fashion by opening your eyes to fabulous styles that most overlook, while adding a few coins back into your purse. You might be surprised to find how much your image effects your mood, opportunities, and your ability to relate in your community.
